Music

Dylan is an educator, pianist, and composer with a love of music in all its forms and a passion to share that joy with students. His teaching approach emphasizes creativity, discovery, and the collective experience of communal music-making, with the goal of building lifelong musicians.
Dylan has taught music lessons to elementary students for 7 years and has experience teaching classical and jazz piano, music theory, and composition. In addition to his work at Walden, he directs the lower levels of the East Bay branch of the San Francisco Boys Chorus, has composed soundtracks to digital adaptations of board games, and worked for several years as the director of programs at a local music education nonprofit.
Dylan received his Bachelor of Music degree in Music Composition from Willamette University in Salem, OR, and has been delighted to help build the next generation of musicians in his home state of California.
