Chi Chi Chang (they/them), Spanish

Chi Chi was born in Taiwan and grew up in the United States. They majored in Spanish and Sociology at Middlebury College in Vermont, and during that time also studied abroad in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico.

Their journey as an educator has taken them from a small non-profit teaching radical history to immigrant students, to the coast of Northern California connecting students to the wonder and beauty of the natural world. They have taught at a Catholic high school and a German International school, founded and organized an arts and feminism camp in Mexico, and co-facilitated four national conferences for youth social justice leaders. In all of these contexts, they have been humbled to be able to do the joyful and rigorous work of facilitating transformation and growth of young people.

Outside of teaching, Chi Chi loves to dance! Chi Chi’s movement practice is guided by curiosity, play, and a desire to savor the richness, complexity, and deliciousness that movement offers. They enjoy studying modern dance, playing soccer, climbing, and more recently- surfing and practicing contact improvisation.
