Claudine Swickard (she / her), Former Administrative Coordinator

Claudine joined Walden after teaching at a Quaker school, Friends Select in Philadelphia, and completing two years of graduate work in art education at art schools in Boston, including the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. She holds a BA in anthropology from Reed College and a teaching certificate from Mills College. Claudine has worn many hats at Walden where she has worked since 1997. Her passions are child development, children’s art, friendship, and yoga. She has a special interest in autism advocacy. When asked what brings her to Walden, she responds, “I admire the staff, students, parents, and founders for nurturing this ‘heaven-on-Earth-for-children’ right here at the corner of Dwight and McKinley in Berkeley.” Claudine’s children attended Walden.
