Indoor Masking
In an abundance of caution, the Walden Collective has decided that students and teachers will continue to mask indoors for the remainder of the school year. Outdoor masking will continue to be optional, assuming no major changes in the transmission rates in Alameda County.

Policy Change for Re-Entry for a Symptomatic Student:

A symptomatic child who attends Walden should remain at home until: 
(1) they are fever free for at least 24 hours without the assistance of medication; 
(2) other symptoms are significantly resolved, such that it makes sense for them to return to school; AND 
(3) they have tested negative for COVID on a PCR test or 2 rapid tests taken 24 hrs apart- 1st at onset of symptoms and the 2nd after 24 hours. (The previous policy required 36 hours between rapid tests.)

Vaccination Mandates for Schools
The State of California has announced that COVID-19 vaccines will not be required for school attendance for the 22-23 school year. CDPH reports that: "any vaccine requirements would not take effect until after full FDA approval and no sooner than July 1, 2023."
