Walden is hiring…After School Program Teacher

We are seeking a self-motivated, dynamic, and enthusiastic Extended Day Care (EDC) teacher who loves working with children and has experience with whole-child education encompassing academic, social, emotional, and physical development. EDC utilizes the indoor and outdoor space of our campus. We offer before and after school care. We offer all day EDC during certain school breaks.

Job Description
After School Teacher:

This part-time position is for an EDC (Extended Day Care) staff member for children in grades TK-6. It is non-collective. The EDC Coordinator is the collective liaison. 

Responsibilities Include:
  • Tender and gentle care of our students
  • Facilitating social interactions
  • Communicating directly with the EDC Coordinator about children, program, or facility concerns and needs
  • Working on all day EDC days
  • Set up and clean up activities
  • Creating and leading engaging art activities
  • Set up and refereeing games
  • Time management
  • Sharing in preparation, serving, and clean-up of snack
  • Helping manage electronic attendance records
Qualifications:
  • Ability to interact positively with a diverse community of students, parents, and teachers
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children (K-6)
  • Strong behavior management and supervision skills
  • Excellent communication skills with parents
Requirements to be completed upon employment:
  • CPR certification
  • First Aid course
  • Fingerprinted
Compensation:

This is a part time hourly position. $24.46
Typical hours Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 2:00-6:00 p.m. and Wednesday 1:45-6:00 p.m
